Praying for Our City
Praying for Our City

As you may know there have been four homicides in the past week or so in Arlington.  One of them took place right by our church and another one near where Julie and I live.  The Arlington Police Department is working four unsolved homicides at the same time which is pretty rare for this city.  Bobby Bridges (pastor of MRBC) has been working some of the cases as chaplain and will be doing one of the funerals.  In fact, the man who was killed yesterday behind No Frills has family connections to Mayfield Road.  Here is a link to a story that details the murders.

In response to all of this I am calling on our church to take time out this week to pray for our city.  Please pray for the Arlington Police Department, that God would direct them and protect them.  Pray for the families of the investigators.  I met some of these guys in the ACAPP program (Arlington Clergy and Police Partnership) and many of them are married with young children.  In seasons like this an investigator will spend most, if not all of their time on the case.  Pray that their families will be strong, that the enemy will not take a foothold, and that a resolution would come soon.

Thank you for your commitment to make an impact on our city!  Be praying……

Loving God, Loving Others, For the Glory of God,

Ryan Christopher
